He returns to Philadelphia as both conductor and violinist for the first time on subscription concerts. He leads Beethoven’s Two Romances for violin and orchestra as soloist, then conducts the great Philadelphia strings in Dvorak’s lyrical and sparkling Serenade for Strings. Beethoven’s masterful Second Symphony and the Brahms Academic Festival Overture, complete with student songs, round out the program.
