Musicians in the Schools

Musicians in the SchoolsThe Philadelphia Orchestra is excited to collaborate with local schools interested in having musicians work with their students. These school visits can take the form of assembly programs, performance/demonstrations, sectionals, clinics, master classes, or coachings and generally involve a solo musician. Orchestra musicians are happy to visit elementary, middle, and high schools as well as colleges and universities.

  • The Education and Community Partnerships Department can usually accommodate up to 15 school requests per season; however, because of the musicians' heavy schedules, we may not be able to fulfill all requests.
  • The fee per musician per hour is currently $400.00. Upon request and review of individual circumstances, partial subsidization of the fee may be arranged.
  • Requests to participate in this program must be made no later than 45 days before the date of the event
(e.g.: Assembly, performance/demonstration, clinic, sectional, master class, or coaching)
