Tour
As one of the world's premier orchestras, The Philadelphia Orchestra brings "The Philadelphia Sound" to cities across the country and around the world. Every year, the Orchestra serves as a cultural bridge between the Philadelphia region and the world, and it is our city's greatest cultural ambassador- opening doors for commerce and camaraderie!
2011 European Festivals Tour
The Philadelphia Orchestra began its highly anticipated 2011 European Festivals Tour on August 25. Under the leadership of Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit, who recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his first concert with the Orchestra, they visited 11 cities in seven countries.
2010 Tour of Asia
The Philadelphia Orchestra embarked on its 2010 Tour of Asia on April 19, and continues through May 9. In his first international tour with the Orchestra, Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit leads the Fabulous Philadelphians in 11 performances in three countries.
2009 Tour of Europe and Canary Islands
In February 2009, The Philadelphia Orchestra traveled to a number of cities in Europe and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Las Palmas, de Gran Canaria, Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid, Budapest and Vienna.
2008 Anniversary Tour of Asia
In May and June 2008, "The Fabulous Philadelphians" traveled to the Far East to share their music with the people of Tokyo and Hyogo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; and Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai, China. This tour commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Orchestra's historic first visit to China, the first-ever by an American orchestra, and the 30th anniversary of the Orchestra's first trip to Korea.
2007 United States Tour
In May and June 2007, The Philadelphia Orchestra took the "Philadelphia Sound" across the United States to the heartland and the west coast. Concert locations included Kansas City, Chicago, Omaha, Davis (CA), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, San Diego, Eugene, and Seattle.
