Dear Subscribers, Donors, and Friends of the Orchestra,

Sarah Johnson Ned Donoghue

Help yourself while helping The Philadelphia Orchestra!

How would you like to…

  • receive a check from The Philadelphia Orchestra several times a year?
  • take advantage of income and tax
    savings now?

The Philadelphia Orchestra’s planned giving program, the Wister Society, can help you do all of these things while ensuring the future of our Fabulous Philadelphians.

Plan a gift today that accommodates your personal financial situation, yet provides the means to sustain The Philadelphia Orchestra and its famous sound for tomorrow.

Planned giving is philanthropy in action. It is voluntary support for important institutions and causes that you believe in. If you believe in the value of the world’s greatest music played by some of the world’s greatest musicians, and what that means for future generations, plan a gift now to support your Philadelphia Orchestra.

Our program provides an opportunity for friends of the Orchestra to obtain assistance in their own financial planning, while benefiting the Orchestra in meaningful ways. Planned gifts often provide financial benefits to donors through tax savings and income streams, especially when securities with a low cost basis are given.

Charitable gift annuities are particularly popular as a planned gift to the Orchestra. The donor contributes cash or appreciated securities and receives in return a stream of income for life at a generous rate of return. Donors also receive an immediate income tax deduction, a stream of income and other tax and investment advantages as well, while funding a significant gift to the Orchestra upon donor's death. This is truly "the gift that gives back." Personalized illustrations are available at no obligation by calling me at 215.893.3146.

All gifts to the Orchestra may be designated as either unrestricted, or for artistic, education or technology, as the donor desires.

A benefit of making a planned gift to the Orchestra is membership in the Wister Society, which honors and recognizes those who have provided for the Orchestra in their estate plans. A photo from our recent Wister Society annual reception attended by Wister Society member Jane Kesson and Concertmaster David Kim appears above.

If you believe that the world's greatest music, played by one of the world's greatest orchestras, is a gift worth passing on intact to the next generation, come join our effort to sustain our sound for tomorrow by planning your gift today!

Best wishes,
