Advisory of Artist Change - Acclaimed soprano Deborah Voigt to join The Philadelphia Orchestra as soloist for Opening Night
Acclaimed soprano Deborah Voigt has graciously agreed to join The Philadelphia Orchestra as soloist in its Opening Night Concert on October 13, replacing Dawn Upshaw, who was originally scheduled to appear. One of the world’s most versatile singers and one of music’s most endearing personalities, Ms. Voigt is internationally revered for her performances in the operas of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. She has also portrayed some of the great heroines in Italian opera, including Tosca, Aida, and Amelia, to great acclaim. Her last appearance with The Philadelphia Orchestra was in 1995, in a concert version of Honegger’s Jeann
