Advisory of Program Change

February 15, 2013

(Philadelphia, February 15, 2013)—The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced a program change for its Rite of Spring performance taking place in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center on March 2, 2013. The first half of the concert will now include Leopold Stokowski transcriptions for full symphony orchestra of three of Bach’s most famous keyboard works—his Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, Fugue in G minor (“Little”), and Toccata and Fugue in D minor. These pieces will be performed in place of the originally scheduled Haydn Symphony No. 38 and Schumann Symphony No. 1. The second half of the concert will remain Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
