January 3, 2013

(Philadelphia, January 3, 2013)—The Philadelphia Orchestra has announced a program change for its Philadelphia and New York performances February 21-24, 2013. Oliver Knussen’s new composition, originally slated to premiere in Philadelphia and at Carnegie Hall, will not take place as scheduled. The replacement repertoire for the Philadelphia performances will be announced at a later date.

Programs affected include those in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center: Thursday, February 21; and Saturday, February 23 at 8:00 PM; as well as Sunday, February 24 at 2:00 PM. Also included is Friday, February 22, at 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall.

Other works—Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major featuring Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring—remain unchanged. For more information on The Philadelphia Orchestra, visit www.philorch.org.
