Philadelphia Orchestra and PECO Team Up To Provide a Different Holiday Jingle–savings in Your Pocket
Free Holiday Concert at Liberty Place Kicks Off PECO Power Week: Deep Discounts on Orchestra Concerts
(Philadelphia, December 5, 2012)—The Philadelphia Orchestra and PECO have partnered once again for the popular annual “Power Week” promotion December 10-17, offering tickets to select Philadelphia Orchestra concerts for a mere $10. This week of incredible deals kicks off with a free concert in the Shops at Liberty Place on Monday, December 10, from 12-1 PM. Busy shoppers and business lunchers will get a break from the hectic holiday pace while listening to the strains of Philadelphia Orchestra musicians ushering in the sounds of the season in the Liberty Place Rotunda.
All year long, thanks to a longstanding partnership with PECO, The Philadelphia Orchestra is able to offer a limited number of “rush” seats for $10, two-and-a-half hours before every subscription concert. PECO’s “Power Week” promotion each December lets concertgoers skip the rush, and plan their concert season in advance.
“PECO Power Hour provides a wonderful opportunity for music lovers to enjoy an Orchestra performance at a fraction of the cost,” said Philadelphia Orchestra President and CEO Allison Vulgamore, “and extending this opportunity to the community for a full week allows us to share the joy of music with many more listeners. We are grateful to PECO, our longstanding partner, whose collaboration makes it possible for us to ensure that the joy of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s music remains affordable.”
Concertgoers will enjoy discounts on performances like the wildly popular Glorious Sound of Christmas, at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall. Many other popular subscription season concerts are also available at a discounted rate, including: Yannick and Bruckner (January), Beethoven’s “Eroica” (March), and Bach and His Brandenburgs (April).
Beginning at noon on December 10, concertgoers can purchase tickets online at www.philorch.org/pecopowerweek (promotion code: PECOPOWERWEEK). Tickets also are available at the Kimmel Center Box Office or by phone at 215.893.1999.
PECO Power Week is part of the PECO Power Hour program, a PECO partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra to provide discounted tickets to many select Orchestra performances.
Arts and culture organizations have an economic impact of more than $1 billion on the local economy. Through PECO-sponsored programs they help people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy and experience the arts throughout the region.
