The night will feature wine and drink specials, free appetizers, and a short performance of a Vivaldi classic by Philadelphia Orchestra musician, Daniel Han, and ensemble.  Reservations must be made in advance.

OPENING NIGHT CONCERT AND GALA

On September 29, 2007, The Philadelphia Orchestra will have their principal event of the year, the Opening Night Concert and Gala.  The evening will feature a concert with world renowned violinist and beauty, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and end with a gourmet dinner and dancing.  This black-tie event will welcome all the major cultural philanthropists, corporate royalty, and high-class socialites in Philadelphia, and marks the beginning of the social season. Most tickets are $500 and above, however, you should take advantage of the “21st Century Society” price of $125/person.  This level will provide you a ticket to the all Brahms’ concert, admission to the Champagne Reception prior to the concert, and seated dinner and dancing afterward.  Get your reservations in quickly to ensure your spot amongst the city’s most influential leaders on the Orchestra’s most elite night!  For more information or to make a reservation, please call the Volunteer Offices at 215.893.1956.

Location: The Mann Center for the Performing Arts
Please join the 21st Century Society of The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Young Philadelphians of The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, on July 18th to hear Long Yu conduct world renowned pianist, Lang Lang, and The Philadelphia Orchestra.  The evening’s program includes Mozart’s Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15, and Multiple’s Yellow River, concerto for piano and orchestra.  Tickets include admission to the concert, picnic basket dinner, wine, beer, and good company!

BERLIOZ Symphonie fantastique
Explore the psychedelic world of Hector Berlioz, complete with a march to the guillotine, a witches' sabbath, and cheap music hall tunes. Learn what the heck an idée fixe is (it must be something important). Get a guided tour of this blockbuster of a symphonic masterpiece before hearing it complete. Heads will roll!
