The Mann Center for the Performing Arts serves as The Philadelphia Orchestra's home each summer for a series of acclaimed outdoor concerts. Located amidst the greenery of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, the Mann Center (www.manncenter.org) presents a wide variety of programming each year. The Mann Center opened in 1976 and was named in 1978 to honor longtime Philadelphia resident Fredric R. Mann (1903-1987), a tireless businessman whose advocacy of summer concerts in Fairmount Park extended back for more than half a century.
