The second episode of Podchestra from The Philadelphia Orchestra

April is the Month of Rising Stars, with Piotr Anderszewski, Janine Jansen, and Julia Fischer taking the stage with The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Orchestra cellist John Koen talks about the program featuring works by Messiaen, Bruch, and Adams, as well as a special postlude recital.  (Works by all three composers, plus the postlude, will be played on April 19, 2007.  The concerts on April 20-21, 2007, feature only Bruch and Adams.)

Violinist Janine Jansen makes her Philadelphia Orchestra debut April 19-21, 2007, playing Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Donald Runnicles conducting.  Tickets and More Information.

Music Director Christoph Eschenbach shares the special gifts young artists bring to their music.

Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Flute Jeffrey Khaner teaches at the Curtis Institute of Music.  Orchestra horn Adam Unsworth teaches at Temple University.  They each talk about how they are passing on their musical gifts to new generations of young artists.
