2018 Board Challenge

Help Meet the 2018 Board Challenge!

Two members of The Philadelphia Orchestra Board of Directors—Bob Rechnitz and his wife, Joan, and the Skylight Foundation—have offered a generous challenge grant totaling $750,000, with a goal of inspiring broad-based support for the Orchestra’s 2017-18 Season.

All new, increased and additional gifts made by August 31, 2018—by any donor at any level—will be matched dollar-for-dollar. As an added incentive, all donors who meet the challenge will receive a complimentary pair of Open Rehearsal tickets for the 2018-19 season!*

Please respond to the 2018 Board Challenge by making a gift and doubling the impact of your generous support of The Philadelphia Orchestra—thank you!

*These tickets are our way of saying “Thank You!” and will be in addition to any Open Rehearsal ticket benefits to which your membership level entitles you. Redemption vouchers for your complimentary tickets, in addition to our 2018-19 Open Rehearsal Calendar, will be mailed to all eligible donors in early September.

  • If you have already made an annual fund gift this fiscal year (September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2018) and you choose to make an additional gift, your gift will be doubled.
  • If you have not yet renewed your annual fund gift this fiscal year and you choose to increase it over last year’s gift amount, the entire amount of your gift will be doubled.

Former donors

  • If you have not made a gift to the Orchestra since August 31, 2016, and choose to rejoin as a donor, your entire gift will be doubled.

New donors

  • If you have never made a gift to the Orchestra’s annual fund before, your new, first-time gift will be doubled.

Special Subscriber Challenge

  • Orchestra subscribers who also donate make the greatest impact on the Orchestra’s work onstage and in the community. The 2018 Board Challenge aims to inspire an additional 500 subscribers who are not currently donating to join the ranks of the Orchestra’s generous philanthropic supporters. All gifts from former or new donors will be doubled.

*  Donor benefits and recognition provided at level of donor’s gift only; additional benefits for doubled value of gift will not be awarded as part of this challenge.
