Getting to know: The Philadelphia Orchestra’s newest musicians!

We recently announced four new musicians who will be joining the roster in the 2017-18 season. Since you will be seeing them on stage and around town, here are some fun facts so you can get to know each of them! And visit our Orchestra roster page to read their full biographies. 

 

 

Name: Chen Yu-Ting

Instrument: Violin

Studied at: Curtis Institute of Music

Fun fact: “I love all kinds of food except Mexican!”

Name: Erica Peel

Instrument: Piccolo

Studied at: University of Miami

Fun fact: “During the year between my undergraduate studies and my first position with the Honolulu Symphony, I worked as a dental assistant to pay for flute lessons. I had no experience, but the dentist fully trained me, and I actually really enjoyed it!”

 

Name: Nathaniel West

Instrument: Bass

Studied at: Curtis Institute of Music

Fun fact: “I'm a huge sports fan and I'm looking forward to following the rise of the 76ers this season.”
