With the Orchestra’s Pearl River Delta Residency Week well underway, we thought you’d enjoy these stunning photographs, taken by none other than our multi-talented second violinist Paul Arnold. Paul and an intrepid crew of Orchestra members are in the midst of the latest phase of the Orchestra’s strategic partnership with China. Still to come: more master classes, pop-ups, and another performance of Ode to Humanity, with assistant conductor Lio Kuokman (who was born in Macao) leading members of the Shenzhen Orchestra playing side-by-side with the Philadelphians. Looking at Paul’s pictures is almost (almost!) as good as being in China. Happily for us, he chose the violin as a career and photography as a hobby … judging by these photos, it could have gone either way!
