Surprise! We're kicking off the spring season with a Free PopUP Concert on Thursday, April 7, at 6:30 PM at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall. Tickets will be made available at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 5. All seating is general admission and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Come to the Kimmel Center early! The festivities begin with an interactive Conduct Us at 5:30 PM in Commonwealth Plaza. You can make your conducting debut with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s string sections with the help of Assistant Conductor Lio Kuokman. One lucky participant of the Conduct Us will be welcomed to lead the full Orchestra onstage in Verizon Hall at the close of the concert.

The family-friendly program features classical favorites enhanced by the new LiveNote Kids Track, allowing your youngest listeners to follow along with the action. Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestra perform selections from Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Sibelius’s Finlandia, Suite No. 1 from Bizet’s Carmen, and Copland’s Appalachian Spring. LiveNote™ will be activated for the Sibelius and Copland pieces, allowing smartphone users to access custom-created content in real time, presenting musical and historical highlights. The PopUP Concert will also include a special announcement about the expansion of the Orchestra’s community and educational initiatives.

The Free PopUP Concert is sponsored by U. S. Charitable Gift Trust at the recommendation of Philadelphia Orchestra President and CEO Allison Vulgamore.
