Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story burst onto the stage more than 50 years ago, changing Broadway forever. The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by audience favorite Bramwell Tovey, performs the Symphonic Dances from the musical. Plus, Catfish Row, George Gershwin’s suite from his opera Porgy and Bess. Also on the program is Bramwell Tovey’s trumpet concerto, Songs of the Paradise Saloon and the Passacaglia from Britten’s Peter Grimes.

Join us at 7 PM for Organ Preludes in Verizon Hall before the concerts this week featuring organists Michael Stairs and Peter Richard Conte. Organ Preludes will replace
PreConcert Conversations December 11, 12, and 13.
