Events with members of the Orchestra

Musicians from The Philadelphia Orchestra present a chamber music concert to benefit our Philadelphia community of Syrian refugees, Monday, May 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Philadelphia Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square. The program will include works by Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and Philadelphia Orchestra violinist Philip Kates (Longing, dedicated to our newly settled neighbors), and will be performed by Principal Horn Jennifer Montone, English horn player Elizabeth Masoudnia, Associate Concertmaster Ying Fu, violinists Jason DePue and Kates, and cellist John Koen. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and can be purchased here. Contributions of $50 or greater will receive mention in the program.

Artolerance and Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel present One Song, a celebration of Israel’s 70th birthday and The Philadelphia Orchestra upcoming tour of Israel, Wednesday, May 9, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM at Beth Zion-Beth Israel, 300 S. 18th St., Philadelphia. Philadelphia Orchestra cellist Udi Bar-David, Principal Trombone Nitzan Haroz, singer Rabbi Yosef Goldman, and Lebanese-American percussionist Joseph Tayoun will perform. Admission is $13 to $18.
