PlayIN at Temple University for Brass

The Philadelphia Orchestra invites brass players of all ages across a range of abilities to participate in an exciting FREE community event, a PlayIN for Brass!

Registration has closed. Join the audience for this celebration of music and collaboration!

Now’s your chance to play with Philadelphia Orchestra musicians, conducted by Blair Bollinger, bass trombonist. Principal Tuba Carol Jantsch, Acting Principal Trombone Matthew Vaughn, trumpeter Anthony Prisk, and horn player Shelley Showers will play side-by-side with participants.

What music will we play?

Musical selections include:

R. Strauss Fanfare for the Vienna Philharmonic
Thompson “Alleluia”
Gabrieli Canzona, No. 2

Music will be provided for the instrument parts of Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, and Tuba. Upon registering online, you will receive an e-mail within 48 hours assigning your parts and providing instructions for their download.

Be sure to bring your music with you to the PlayIN!

What do I need to bring?
Download and print your music for the Brass PlayIN, as well as a folding music stand.

Where may I store my instrument case and coat during the event?
A secured storage area (“a brass check”) will be provided for participants during the Brass PlayIN. 

When should I arrive? How long will the event last?
Registered participants are asked to arrive between 5:15 and 5:45 PM. Volunteers will be present to direct you as needed. The event begins promptly at 6:00 PM and will run no longer than one hour.
