Philadelphia Orchestra Holds Holiday SingIN, December 16
The Salvation Army Kroc Center Hosts Singers, Philadelphia Orchestra Musicians, and Guest Conductor Bramwell Tovey
(Philadelphia, December 4, 2015)—The Philadelphia Orchestra invites singers of all ages and skill levels from across the region to participate in a special holiday SingIN at The Salvation Army Kroc Center on December 16, 2015, at 7 PM. Led by Bramwell Tovey and accompanied by musicians of the string and brass sections of The Philadelphia Orchestra, participants perform an hour’s worth of holiday classics, including “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Jingle Bells,” “The First Noel,” and more. The event is free and open to the public. Future PlayINs and SingINs will be announced at a later date.
SingINs, free for participants and audiences, continue the Orchestra’s expansion of community offerings that take its musicians off stage, on the road, and into the lives of music-lovers throughout the Philadelphia region. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s collaborative learning program—including PlayINs, Free Neighborhood Concerts, the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert at Girard College, and partnership with the School District of Philadelphia—serves as a catalyst for cultural activity, growing young musician talent and a love of classical music, nurturing and celebrating the wealth of musicianship in the Philadelphia region.
