2017 Asia, May 28: Beijing

Some members of the tour party traveled to Beijing to be ready for a rehearsal and concert with the Starry Sky Orchestra on Monday, while others stayed in Shanghai. Orchestra President and CEO Allison Vulgamore and Executive Vice President for Orchestra Advancement Ryan Fleur were among those who went on to Beijing, for a tour of the Soong Ching Ling Residence, a meeting with officials from the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Kawai Musical Instrument Manufacturing Company, and a dinner.

2017 Asia, May 23-24: Newark-Shanghai

Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestra embarked on their 2017 Tour of Asia yesterday. The almost 15-hour flight from Newark International Airport to Shanghai Pudong International Airport was thankfully uneventful and the musicians arrived at their hotel by mid-afternoon, weary but excited.
