Digital Asset Management Internship

The Philadelphia Orchestra is currently seeking a Digital Asset Management (DAM) Intern to support the functions of the Digital Asset Manager. The intern will assist in the operations of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s DAM platform, including asset transfer, cataloging, metadata tagging and keywording. Assets include audiovisual media, publication and marketing materials, and photographs.  

The intern will receive training on the Orchestra’s DAM system to accurately catalog born-digital and archival assets and work with colleagues across departments to ensure proper and complete capture of digital assets and related metadata.

The intern will also assist the DAM Manager and other staff with an on-site physical inventory of archival audio and video materials.

What you will learn:

  • The intern will receive training on a robust enterprise digital asset management system.
  • The intern will be able to catalog assets, entering appropriate metadata.  
  • The intern will gain experience with asset lifecycle management for a performing arts organization.

What you will do:

  • Assist with the maintenance of the DAM system.  
  • Catalog digital assets and assign appropriate metadata to ensure accurate search and usage.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to obtain correct metadata.
  • Other duties as assigned

What we require:

  • Current experience with DAM software desirable.
  • Related coursework and/or experience in database management, digital asset management, audiovisual libraries and/or digital archives.
  • Understanding of best practices in digital asset management and archives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of symphonic music.
  • Commitment of 8-10 hours per week.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, the candidate must have the ability to work from home.
