Beethoven Symphony No. 9 (“Choral”)

Program Notes

Yannick and the Orchestra close the 2021–22 subscription season with a joyful celebration of Beethoven, performing the iconic Symphony No. 9.

Composer-in-Residence Gabriela Lena Frank draws inspiration from Beethoven and her Peruvian culture in Pachamama Meets an Ode, challenging us to look at gifts from the past with new and searching eyes.

Traffic Alert: The 2022 PHL Pride March and PHL Pride Festival will involve road closures in Old City and Center City areas east of Broad Street, starting on Sunday, June 5 at 11:00 AM. This will increase traffic surrounding the Kimmel Center. Please allow for extra time for travel to Sunday’s concert.

Please note: This performance originally included Bruckner's Symphony No. 7.
