Program Notes

Tchaikovsky’s romantic Fifth Symphony represents triumph over fate, building from a melancholy opening to a rousing finale celebrating the strength of the human spirit. Principal Flute Jeffrey Khaner takes center stage for Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s intimate Flute Concerto.
