In January 2019, The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic performed a free side-by-side concert in Verizon Hall in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The concert coincided with the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and China, and featured the world premiere of the revised version of Peng Peng Gong’s Symphony No. 10 (“Peking Fantasy”).
